On Friday, Tim and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We 'celebrated' by watching the Westminster Wildcats win their first game of the season on the new field. Go Cats!
On Saturday we got to go on our date. Our good friends Steve and Jen volunteered to watch our kids for us. So, we dropped them off at 3:00. When you have 3 kids to feed, what's 4 more...right? The kids had a blast playing in the pool, sprinkler and with water guns. THANK YOU, Steve and Jen!
After we dropped them off, we headed to our appointment to get massages. On the way there, the massage place called to say one of the therapists had a family emergency and had to cancel. Say WHAT?? Don't they know it's our anniversary and we had babysitters and we were on our way?!? So...now what? We went to Sam's to get a snack of a hot pretzel (exciting, I know) and then we decided to go to a movie. We hit Des Peres theatre at 4:05 and bought tickets for a 4:15 showing of Crazy, Stupid Love. It was, to say the least, stupid. But it was nice to sit for two whole hours uninterrupted with no one needing anything from us. The movie was over at 6:25 and we headed back to get the kids. No time for dinner...good thing we had that snack.
We went home and put the kids to bed and then ordered carry out from Applebee's. We sat on the couch, watched Law and Order and ate our take out. It was a normal end to our evenings (watching TV together), but we had spent 4 hours together without kids and we were happy.
A lot has changed in 11 years: how we look, what we eat, when we eat, how we spend our money, what brings us joy and how much more we enjoy the little things in life.
Here's to many more years together!

11 years... congrats. It's a huge deal, Adriane. (And I can't believe we are all getting so old!)
