Project 52 #10: Paper Crafts at Sarah Care

This week went back to Sarah Care for another visit.  You can read about our first visit HERE.  Instead of reading books this time we made a craft with them.  It was a simple concept that ended up being a little too difficult for the participants to complete.

Pinwheels!  It was even too difficult for the kids to complete, so Jodie and I did the assembling.  We stapled the corners of the paper to the center and then taped them to straws.  But it was fun nonetheless to watch the kids interact with the adults.  Some of the adults remembered us from last time which was fun.

Bailey was such a great sport.  She kept getting reprimanded by the ladies at her table that just couldn't understand that she WAS old enough to use crayons and scissors and tape.  She was such a sweetie about it though!  I just reassured the ladies that Bailey was ok and she was fine using the craft supplies that we brought :)

Lydia with Ms. Thelma and Ms. Betty.  Lydia stayed at this table the whole time with these wonderful ladies and colored and chatted with them.  I think they asked her the same questions 10 times, but she answered each time like it was the first.

Don't the pinwheels look cute on the table?  I hope they bring smiles for days to come while the participants at Sarah Care enjoy their meals.  We enjoyed being there and spending time with the adults that attend.  It was awesome to watch the kids interact; smiling, answering questions when spoken to and being respectful of each individual.
