This past weekend we went to a family camp at
High Hill Christian Camp and Retreat Center with my brother and his family and my parents. Fourteen of us in all: 6 adults, 8 kids. Two nights away with six meals all provided at a
very reasonable rate. It was a blast! Lots of teaching time from some great speakers, awesome praise and worship, and lots of time to just be. There was yummy food that I didn't have to prepare or clean up, fireworks, a pig roast and swimming in the lake and/or pool. There were late night chats with my mom on the bunk beds, s'mores on a camp fire, lots of staying up way too late for the kids, and playing with the cousins. The weather was hot on Saturday, but very cool on Sunday.
Tim and I are learning that to really
be with our kids, we need to get away from the house. If we stay here, there are too many temptations to work or send the kids out to play on their own. Tim got to go on walks with all the girls. And, besides the extreme fatigue lining their sweet little faces, you can tell that they feel loved and they are counting the days until we go back next year!

| The extra long, extra fast water slide |

| Ahren really controlled his ride on the way down by holding closely to the sides |
 |
| The paddleboat. All 6 of us crammed on there! |

| This is called the Blob. You jump on it, then someone else jumps on it and sends you flying in the air. |
 |
| Tim flying off. |
 |
| My niece Morgan flying off. She had NO fear! |

| This was taken on the last day in our bunk room. Look how tired Maria is! |
 |
| This is how all the kids felt at the end. But it was worth it!! |
