July 4th has become a favorite holiday for us as a family. This year we hosted 'Pignic '11' and it was a blast! A collision of worlds: school, neighbors, church, friends and family. Not everyone knew everyone else, but we love having so many facets of our life together at one event. The only other time that really happens is your wedding and your funeral! This year, thanks to
Pinterest I did some crafting to prepare.

And of course, there was the pig. We didn't do a whole hog this year, for more than one reason, but it was delicious nonetheless. One addition this year was grilled corn on the cob. Oh so yummy!

And the best part of the evening was sharing it with our favorite people!

Pork and 4th of July are two of my most favorite things!!! Awesome job on the crafts!! They looked amazing!!

(i am glad you don't have pictures of me... i've decided to embrace my sweaty, frizzy haired no-makeup look for the summer, but i don't necessarily want to share it with the blogosphere!)
