The Day with Two Birthday Parties

There was no school for the kids yesterday.  A reward for teachers who had parent/teacher conferences all week.  I like having the kids home.  It makes for a nice break from the rush-rush of getting everyone out the door every morning by 8:10 a.m.

It just so happens that we have a few friends with birthdays this week.  Two birthday parties scheduled for a no-school day for kiddos turning five.  Yippee!

First was Parker.  Good friends who throw great parties.  Check out the party favors here.  Stick horses for a horse themed party with real, live horses making an appearance at the party!  Annie and Lydia were in heaven and are still playing with the horses this morning.  Ahren and Maria were able to snag a horse and some props too since not all the party-goers showed up.

Happy Birthday to Parker!

The second party was for friends John and Charlie.  We've known them since they were born and can hardly believe they are 5 already.  This party was in the evening complete with a hot dog roast, glow sticks and light-up light sabers.  Every five year old boy's dream!  Even the girls got in on the sword fight and we only had a few tears from being incidentally hit in the face while 20 kids were playing with swords!

It was a great day and we are so blessed to have good friends to share our lives with!
