After that we packed up and headed to the VonderBruegge's farm. They invited us for the weekend. It's just 10 minutes north of St. James. We spent the evening with good food and good friends. We talked about new technology (Scott has a new Ipad) and how it works into the classroom, how to teach our kids about Satan/evil in the world, and farming in general. I'm pretty sure the guys talked about hunting and which spot in the woods will be best for their tree stand. The farm is beautiful and a great get-away from the busyness of life in St. Louis.
The kids were fast friends as well.
The two "Annie's" after their bath.
1,2,3,4 kids in the tub...no room for the other 3! Lydia, Annie(aka Denny), Annie and Charlie.
On Sunday we woke up early (i wish kids knew when it was a sleep-in day!) and had breakfast. Then we went on a walk in the creek which is really the Borbouese river. Ahren learned how to catch frogs - he was really good at it! Maria loved riding in the backpack and Lydia and Annie just loved being with friends.
Love this picture:
After lunch the kids took a nap and we sat outside in the sun listening to the Cardinals beat up on the Pirates. We reluctantly left around 4:00 and headed home. It was a great weekend! I went to bed early and slept very peacefully all night. It was so fun to be with friends and watch the kids play and play and play and be reminded of why I love being their mother!
