Basement Update/Family Dinner

The mud is now gone from my basement! The hole has been filled, concrete has been poured and the floor has been washed. It's not perfect yet, but I am able to do my laundry again. The kids are so happy because Ahren has clean pants and the girls have clean underwear again :) With Annie potty training, the girl underwear seem to get dirty so fast! Enough underwear talk...

I'm thankful that my husband knows enough about me to know that messes are one thing that really bother me. Having my basement full of mud for 5 days was really hard. Seeing him with a scrub brush and a hose did wonders for my morale. He's skipping family dinner tonight to work on the siding on the back of the house. He's a worker.

Family dinner is one of my favorite things. We eat with his parents, two grandmothers and sometimes his brother and sisterinlaw every Tuesday. When we're all there it's a total of 12. I get to sit back and enjoy a meal that was prepared by someone else and watch other people love on my kids. It's a win-win for everyone involved. So, I'm sad that Tim isn't going tonight - it's always more fun with him around. But alas, it's time to go to family dinner and miss the banging outside my kitchen window while he does siding. Maybe we'll bring some leftovers home for him...
