Two vs. Four

Today I had only two of the four kids for the better half of the day.  Tim drove the football team to camp and two of the kids went with him for the bus ride.  (don't worry, the other two will get their turn when he goes back to get the team!)

While it was a nice reprieve, it was surprising how much I missed all the kids being together!  When they're all together all.the.time. it's sometimes loud and obnoxious and tiring.  But today, as soon as the other two were home, they headed outside to be together.  Together doing things that are more fun with four rather than two.

Like a silly string fight...
and drinking playing in the sprinkler..
When it was just two, they were trying to get along and do the normal summertime stuff...but it just wasn't gell-ing without the missing duo.

Now I can hear Maria proclaiming as she's on the trampoline bouncing up and down: "this.is.the.best.day.ever!"  I happen to agree.

  1. This is good to know! Think Jim and I should just put our heads down and press on to 4 kids without worrying about the challenge of the baby stage!!!
