We now have two kiddos who can ride a two-wheeler. #1 and #3! #2 has no desire and #4 is still a little young. So, today we decided to take two cars (the truck with all the bikes/scooter and the van with the kids!) to Howell Island and ride on the levee trail. A Saturday morning on a bike trail is a little dangerous with 4 young kids. No one told us this and it didn't occur to us that we might be in the way of some serious bike riders! Bikers zooming past with looks of impatience as the six of us tried to get in a rhythm of riding. It would have worked much better if Maria was in the mood to ride her bike...or if her legs were a little longer. At one point as I was walking my bike and trying to get her to get back on hers, I asked her how we were going to get back if she didn't ride. Her response as honest as could be was: "a boat?!"

So, I think we totaled 200 yds in about 45 minutes. Not quite the experience we were hoping for and we'll probably wait another year to try it again.
Great job for at least trying to make family memories!!!! Trying new things can either be GREAT or DISASTER when children are included. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground.
