The car ride to AWANA tonight was particularly interesting. It started with the name Sarah. We passed SarahCare on the way and the kids wanted to know if Sarah was a real name. Which lead to the discussion of Abraham and Sarah and how God changed their names after Isaac was born. Ahren got confused and thought that Abraham couldn't talk until the baby was born (he was thinking of Zechariah and John). This led to talk of John being Jesus' cousin. This led to talk of Jesus being everywhere at once, which led to talk of heaven, which led to talk of how we get to heaven. Whew - quite the string of consciousness when you think about it!
Anyway, we talked about how Jesus died for everyone. People who speak different languages, people who are a different color, people we see sleeping outside, people we go to school with, and "mean" people. Annie pipes in with: "Jesus even died for people with no hair!"
Lydia: "yeah, like Mr. Chris and Uncle Ben."
Ahren: "and Jocelyn's dad"
By this time I was laughing and the conversation turned to how many people we could think of with no hair. It was hilarious and we were all giggling by the time we got to AWANA.
Sweet memories made in a 10 minute drive.
